Hi there ♥ I’m here with a new stitch. Crochet Easy Spike Stitch is very useful stitch as you can use it in many projects. With this stitch you can make blankets, cardigans, jumpers, baby stuffs and bags.
You will only need to know single crochet so it’s a beginner friendly tutorial. You can use different color combinations with two colors.
Materials
100 gr-290 m- first color (light color)
100 gr-297 m-multicolor yarn second color
3.5 mm hook
Stitches used
Chain: ch
Single crochet: sc
Stitch: st
Notes
When you see *( )** it means you repeat the instructions in between *( )** Where you see the word turn it means to turn your work clockwise and work back down the row.
Pattern
Your chains must be even number.
Row1: Skip 1st ch and insert the 2nd ch, make a sc in each st.
Row2: Ch1 and turn. Insert in to the 1st st and make a sc in each st. Take the second color at the last st. Don’t cut the yarn.
Row3: Ch1 and turn. Make a sc in each st.
Row4: Ch1 and turn. Make a sc in each st. Take the first color at the last st. Don’t cut the yarn.
Row5: Ch1 and turn. Make a sc in to the first st. *(Insert your hook into the st 3 rows below and make a long sc (you can see in photo1) +skip 1st+ make a sc)**At the end of the row, the last st is sc.
Row6: Ch1 and turn. Make a sc in every st. Change the color at the end.
Row7: Ch1 and turn. Make a sc in each st.
Row8: Ch1 and turn. Make a sc in each st. Take the first color at the last st.
Row9: Ch1 and turn. The first st is a sc+*(insert your hook in 3 rows below, between two legs of the previous long sc (you can see in photo2)+skip 1st+ make a sc)**At the end of the row, the last st is sc.
Repeat Row6-7-8-9 to desired length.
When you finish your blanket,you can turn all around with sc.On the corners, make 2sc.
