It’s a beginner friendly and very practical tutorial mostly consist of single crochets. It’s like waffle stitch but even easier. You can make it with any kind of yarn. I have tried cotton and wool, I like both of them.
Materials
Two different colours of yarn and any hook you choose.
Some scissors.
Tapestry needle
Stitches used
Chain: ch
Single crochet: sc
Treble crochet: tr
Stitch: st
Notes
When you see *( )** it means you repeat the instructions in between *( )** Where you see the word turn it means to turn your work clockwise and work back down the row.
Pattern
Ch multiples of 6
Row 1 (color A):Turn, Skip first st. Make a sc in each st.
Row 2 (color A): Ch1 and turn, make a sc in each st.
Row 3 (color B): Ch1 and turn, make a sc in each st.
Row 4 (color B): Ch1 and turn, make a sc in each st. (Carry the color A yarn with you, please watch the video)
Row 5 (color B): Ch1 and turn, make a sc in each st.
Row 6 (color B): Ch1 and turn, make a sc in each st.
Row 7 (color A): Ch1 and turn,*(5sc in each 5st+yarn over twice and insert your hook from the Row2’s 6th st and make a tr+skip the st behind this tr)**At the end of the row you will finish with 5 sc in a row
Row 8 (color A): Ch1 and turn, make a sc in each st.
Row 9(color B): Ch1 and turn, make a sc in each st.
Row 10(color B): Ch1 and turn, make a sc in each st.
Row 11(color B): Ch1 and turn, make a sc in each st.
Row 12(color B): Ch1 and turn, make a sc in each st.
Row 13(color A): Ch1 and turn,*(5sc in each 5st+yarn over twice and insert your hook around the tr of previous row and make a tr+skip 1st in the Row13)** Finish with 5 sc in a row.
Row 14 (color A): Ch1 and turn, make a sc in each st.
Repeat Row 9-10-11-12-13-14 as long as you want.
