Yarn
- Red Heart – Hygge (bulky, size 5)
6 mm Crochet Hook
Yarn Needle
Scissors
STITCHES & ABBREVIATIONS
Ch = Chain
St(s) = Stitch(es)
Sl St = Slip Stitch
DC = Double Crochet
FpDC = Front Post Double Crochet
BpDC = Back Post Double Crochet
DC2tog = Double Crochet Two Together
FpDC2tog = Front Post Double Crochet Two Together
NOTES:
*Directions are for an adult size.
*US crochet terms are used in this pattern.
*’DC 2′ means DC into the next 2 stitches.
*The turning chain ch 2 does NOT count as a DC.
*Instructions between two asterisks (*) should be repeated for the remainder of the row.
FOUNDATION CHAIN: Multiples of 3. In this case Ch 60. Sl st to the 1st Ch. (make sure that the chain base is not twisted)
ROW 1: Ch 2, turn your chain base and work in back loops, DC in first ch and each ch to end, sl st in top of first DC. You should have 60 DC in total.
ROW 2: Ch 2,*FpDC, DC 2*, sl st.
ROW 3: Ch 2, *DC, BpDC 2*, sl st.
ROWS 4-15: Repeat ROWS 2 and 3.
ROW 16: Ch 2, *FpDC, DC2tog*, sl st.
ROW 17: Ch 2, *DC, BpDC*, sl st.
ROW 18: Ch 2, *FpDC2tog, BpDC*, sl st. (while making FpDC2tog; skip BpDC in between 2 FpDCs)
ROW 19: Ch 2, *FpDC, BpDC*, sl st.
ROW 20: Ch 2, FpDC across (skip all BpDCs), sl st, Ch 1, fasten off. Close the gap inserting the needle front loops of the stitches then pull it gently and secure the yarn.
