How To Crochet Star Stitch (With Written Pattern)

     Today’s stitch is a star stitch. Like her name she’s really a star. Because it will fit perfectly in any of your projects. You can make a beanie, a shawl, a blanket or a cardigan with this. You can make it one colour or colourful. It’s your choice. Make your project with a star stitch and enter the winter like a star.



Materials

Size 4 yarn

5.00mm hook for the hat

Tapestry needle

Stitches used

Chain: ch

Half double crochet:hdc

Stitch: st

Space: sp



Notes

When you see *( )** it means you repeat the instructions in between *( )** Where you see the word ​turn​ it means to turn your work clockwise and work back down the row.


Row 1: Make a slipknot. Start with an odd numbered chain. Insert your hook from the second ch and pull up a loop and then pull 4 loops from next 4 ch respectively. Have totally 6 loops on your hook. (You can see in photo1.) Then yarn over and pull through all of loops. +Ch1+



*(yarn over insert your hook in this ch1 sp (photo2)and grab the yarn + insert your hook in the last side post and grab the yarn + insert your hook in the bottom of the st (photo3)and grab the yarn + and insert your hook next 2 st and grab the yarn + you have 6 loops on your hook pull through together + ch1)**




Row2:Ch2 and turn. *(2hdc in to the Ch1 sp of previous row)** Finish this row with 2 hdc.

Row3: Ch3 and turn. Insert your hook from the second st of ch3 and pull up a loop+insert your hook from the third st of ch3 and pull up a loop+pull 3 loops from 3st respectively. Totally 6 loops on your hook.Then yarn over and pull through all loops.+Ch1+*(yarn over insert your hook in this ch1 sp (photo2)and grab the yarn + insert your hook in the last side post and grab the yarn + insert your hook in the bottom of the st (photo3)and grab the yarn + and insert your hook next 2 st and grab the yarn + you have 6 loops on your hook pull through together + ch1)** Finish this row with a hdc.



Row4:Ch2 and turn. *(2hdc in to the Ch1 sp of previous row)** Finish this row with 2 hdc.

You can repeat the 3rd and 4th rows until you reach the desired length and you can change the colour every two rows.
