Crochet Easy Romantic Baby Blanket Pattern

This baby blanket is so romantic! It’s really beautiful and comfortable for babies, even for cats. 🙂 The pattern is pretty easy to make, beginners can make it too. I hope you enjoy..



MATERIALS

Yarn – Stylecraft Special xl Super Chunky

5 mm Crochet Hook

Yarn Needle

Scissors



STITCHES & ABBREVIATIONS

ch = Chain

st(s) = Stitch(es)

sk = Skip

sl st = Slip Stitch

sc = Single Crochet

long dc = Long Double Crochet

  • yarn over, insert hook in designated st, pull up long loop on hook, yarn over, pull through two loops on hook two times.

pop = Popcorn Stitch

  • work 5 dc in same st, drop the loop from hook, insert hook from front to back under the top two loops of the first dc of the group, grap the dropped loop with hook and pull it through the st, ch 1.


NOTES:

*US crochet terms are used in this pattern.

*’long dc 10′ means dc into the next 10 stitches.

*’9long dc’ means place 9long dc into the same stitch.

*Work a group of stitches within parentheses () all in the same stitch or space.



foundation: ch 92. (multiples of 10 + 2).

ROW 1:  sc into 2nd ch from hook, *sk 4, 9long dc, sk 4, sc, repeat from * to end (9 times in total), turn.



ROW 2:  ch 4, long dc into first st, *ch 5, sk 9, (long dc, ch 3, long dc), sk 9, ch 5, repeat from * to  last st, into last st (long dc, ch 1, long dc), turn.

ROW 3: ch 3, into ch 1 space place long dc 4, secure the ch 5 (one row below) by working sc in the 5th long dc on the row below the ch 5, *long dc 9 in ch3 space, secure the ch 5 again by working sc, repeat from * to ch1 space,  into ch1 space (long dc 4, long dc into 3rd ch), turn.



ROW 4: ch 1, sc in the 1st st, ch 2, sk 4, (long dc, ch 3, long dc), *ch 5, sk 9, (long  dc, ch 3, long dc), repeat from * until 5 sts left, ch 2, sk 4, sc into last st (3rd ch from previous row), turn.

ROW 5: ch 1, sc in the 1st st, *9long dc in ch3 space, secure ch 5 by working sc as before, repeat from * to last ch3 space, 9long dc in ch3 space, sk 4, sc in the last st, turn.

**From now on repeat rows 2-5 until piece is desired length. Make sure to end on row 3 repeat.

Do not fasten off. Proceed directly to border.




Border

Rotate the piece to the right once,

round 1: Add 8 more long dc in same space (13 in total with last 5 long dc), sc around long dc, *long dc 9 in next joining point (in sc stitch), sc around long dc, repeat from * to left bottom corner. into starting ch of foundation row long dc 13, sc in 9long dc space of first row, long dc 9 in sc space of first row. Repeat these until the beginning of last row. Complete 5long dc to 13. Join with a sl st in 3rd ch.






round 2: Ch 4, and place long dc in each long dc st of previous row by chaining 1 between them and skipping the last long dc, sc, first long dc sts(don’t ch 1 where you sk 3 sts). Repeat to end. Join with a sl st.



round 3: Ch 1, work (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch 1 spaces of previous row except first and last, and make a pop in the space where 3sts skipped from previous row. Repeat to end. Join with a sl st to the first st, ch 1, fasten off. Weave in ends.
