Crochet Cute Hearts Stitch Written Pattern

This stitch is great for making blankets, shawls, beanies and many other project. Just use your imagination! Hope you will have fun learning this amazingly beautiful technique.



MATERIALS

Yarn

  • Kartopu Baby Natural – White (100g/200m) (Light Worsted Weight)
  • Kartopu Baby Natural – Red

3.5 mm Crochet Hook

Stitch Marker

Yarn Needle

Scissors



STITCHES & ABBREVIATIONS

ch = Chain

st(s) = Stitch(es)

sk = Skip

sc = Single Crochet

dc = Double Crochet

edc = Extended Double Crochet

  • yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook). yarn over and pull through the first loop on hook (3 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through two loops twice.


NOTES:

*US crochet terms are used in this pattern.

*The turning chain ch 3 DOES count as a DC.

*Never cut the yarns while changing color.

Foundation: with color white ch multiple of 6 until you reach the desired width.

Row 1:  join color red from the last ch, ch 3 and turn, 2 dc in last ch of foundation row, *ch 3, sk 5 ch, 5 dc in next ch, repeat from * until 6 sts left, ch 3, 3 dc in last ch, leave the loop and secure it by using a stitch marker.




Row 2: go back to beginning of row 1, insert hook into 3rd ch and grab the color white, ch 1, sc in same st, *ch 2, edc in 3rd ch of skipped 5 ch of previous row, ch 1, edc in same st, ch 2, sc in next 3rd dc st, repeat from * until end, leave the loop and secure it by using a stitch marker.



Row 3: take color red, turn, keep the color white in front, ch 4, *5 dc in next ch1 space, ch 3, repeat from * until last st, ch 1, sc in last st, leave the loop and secure it by using a stitch marker.



Row 4: go back to color white, take the loop on hook, ch 4, secure the chains of previous 2 rows with edc by working around them, ch 2, sc in next 3rd dc st, *ch 2, secure the chains of previous 2 rows with 1 edc before sc 3 rows below, ch 1, and 1 edc after sc 3 rows below by working around them, ch 2, sc in next 3rd dc st, ch2, repeat from * until last st, secure the chains of previous 2 rows with edc by working around them, ch 1, edc in sc st 3 rows below, leave the loop and secure it by using a stitch marker.




Row 5: turn your work, take color red, ch 2, leave the loop, insert hook into last ch1 space of previous row, grab the loop and pull through, ch 3, 2 dc in same space, ch 3, *5 dc in next ch1 space, ch 3, repeat from * until last ch1 space, 3 dc in last ch1 space, leave the loop and secure it by using a stitch marker.



ROW 6: insert hook into 3rd ch of first ch3 of previous row, grab the loop of color white, ch 1, sc in same st, *ch 2, secure the chains of previous 2 rows with 1 edc before sc 3 rows below, ch 1, and 1 edc after sc 3 rows below by working around them, ch 2, sc in next 3rd dc st, repeat from * until end, leave the loop and secure it by using a stitch marker.



**From now on repeat rows 3-6 until desired length is reached.
