Crochet Baby Loafers / Shoes Written Pattern

MATERIALS

Yarn

  • La Mia XL Mercerized 100% Cotton (50g/95m)

2.2 or 2.5 mm Crochet Hook

Yarn Needle

Scissors



STITCHES & ABBREVIATIONS

ch = Chain

st(s) = Stitch(es)

sl st = Slip Stitch

sk = Skip

blo = Back Loop Only

flo = Front Loop Only

sc = Single Crochet

bpsc = Back Post Single Crochet

hdc = Half Double Crochet

dc = Double Crochet

reverse sc = Reverse Single Crochet (or crab stitch)

  • insert hook, from front to back, in the next stitch to the right. yarn over and pull through the stitch. yarn over and pull through the 2 loops on hook.


NOTES:

*Newborn to 6 months in size.

*US crochet terms are used in this pattern.

*Ch 2 does NOT count as a DC.

*Total stitches are indicated in between < >.



Sole

ch 19.

Round 1: 2dc into 4th ch from hook, dc in next 14 sts, 5dc in last st, continue to work on other side of ch base, dc in next 14 sts, 2dc in last st, join with a sl st in 1st dc st. <38>

Round 2: ch 1, 2sc in next 2 sts, sc in next 6 sts, 2hdc in next st, dc in next 6 sts, 2dc in next 5 sts, dc in next 6 sts, 2hdc in next st, sc in next 6 sts, 2sc in next 2 sts, sc in joining st of previous row, join with a sl st into 1st sc st. <47>

Round 3: ch 2, 2dc in next 4 sts, dc in next 14 sts, 2dc in next 10 sts, dc in next 14 sts, 2dc in next 4 sts, dc in joining st of previous row, join with a sl st into ch2. <65>

Round 4: ch 1, sc in same st, sc in each st around, join with a sl st into ch 1. <66>




Body

Round 5: ch 1, bpsc in each st around, join with a sl st into 1st bpsc. <66>

Round 6: ch 2, dc in each st around, join with a sl st into 1st dc. <66>

Round 7: repeat round 6.<66>

Round 8: ch 2, dc in next 8 sts, sc in next 50 sts, dc in next 8 sts, join with a sl st into 1st dc, ch 1, fasten off. <66>




Upper Part

Row 1: start counting from 1st sc of round 8, insert hook into blo of 23rd st, ch 1, blo sc in next 6 sts, turn. <6>

Row 2: sk 1 st, sc in next 4 sts, flo sc in 22nd and 21st sts of round 8, turn. <6>

Row 3: sk 1 st, sc in next 5 sts, blo sc in 30th and 31st sts of round 8, turn. <7>

Row 4: sk 1 st, sc in next 6 sts, flo sc in 20th and 19th sts of round 8, turn. <8>

Row 5: sk 1 st, sc in next 7 sts, blo sc in 32nd and 33rd sts of round 8, turn. <9>

Row 6: sk 1 st, sc in next 8 sts, flo sc in 18th and 17th sts of round 8, turn. <10>

Row 7: sk 1 st, sc in next 9 sts, blo sc in 34th and 35th sts of round 8, turn. <11>

Row 8: sk 1 st, sc in next 10 sts, flo sc in 16th and 15th sts of round 8, turn. <12>

Row 15: sk 2 sts, sc in next 12 sts, continue to work on round 8, sc in next 9 sts, dc in 16 sts, sc in next 8 sts, join with a sl st into 1st sc of current row. <45>

Row 16: ch 2, sk 1 st, dc in next 10 sts, ch 2, join with a sl st into next st, sl st in next 9 sts, sc in next 16 sts, sl st in next 8 sts. Fasten off. Hide the tail. <44>




Hold the shoe as sole facing upwards and heel facing towards you. Insert hook into joining st of round 4, ch 1, reverse sc in each st around, join with a sl st into 1st st. Fasten off and hide the tail.



Insert hook into last flo st of round 8 of upper part, ch 1, reverse sc in each flo sts until first flo st. Fasten off and hide the tail.



ch 16, dc into 4th ch from hook, dc in each st across. Leave a long tail for sewing and fasten off. Sew it onto row just right below the upper part of 16th row.



Cord

Leave a long tail at the beginning. Make a slip knot. Hold the working yarn around your index finger and tail over the hook from front to back. (2 loops on hook) Grab working yarn and pull through 2 loops on hook. Repeat it until desired length is reached. Make a bow and sew it in the middle of the piece you just sewed.
